Ratohnhaké:ton (pronounced Ra-doon-ha-gay-doon), also known as Connor, was an American Assassin living in colonial America during the later half of the 18th century. He was an ancestor of Desmond Miles.
Biography
Born to an English father and a Native American mother, Connor was raised among the Mohawk, and suffered severely during his childhood, largely from their encounters with the white colonists.
This reached its pinnacle when his village was destroyed, prompting Connor to seek justice, and fight tyranny. This eventually led him to come across and join the Assassin Order.
At the same time, the American Revolution unfolded, and Connor found himself allying with the leaders of the American revolutionaries, George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin.
Equipment and skills
Connor was a very skilled freerunnner, able to climb trees, or swinging from one to another. He was capable of wielding several different weapons, including a tomahawk, hidden blade, bow, flintlock pistols, flintlock rifle, and chain dart. Connor was also an adept hunter, and could sell the pelts of animals he had killed and skinned.
Unlike most Assassins before him, Connor did not wear robes. Instead, he wore a knee length coat with blue lining, as well as a thin blue sash fastened with an Assassin insignia, and brown boots past his knees.
Personality and characteristics
- "[Connor]'s one of those people that has an inbuilt sense of right and wrong... He isn't a grey area kind of guy"
- ―Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director of Assassin's Creed III.
Connor appeared thoughtful and intense, and the words he did not speak were just as loud as the ones he did. His movements resembled those of a predator, always staying low to the ground and moving under enemy attacks.
Trivia
- Contrary to some of Desmond Miles' other ancestors such as Aquilus, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze possessing similarities and connections to eagles, Connor has a closer resemblance to a wolf.
- "Connor" is a Gaelic name meaning "lover of hounds".
- Unlike Altaïr, Ezio, and Desmond, Connor does not have a scar on his lip, similar to Aquilus.
- Connor's sash is red in concept art, but in the Reveal trailer and in-game photos, it is blue.
