The Ranger's Sword was a sword originally belonging to a ranger in Lakonia during the 5th century BCE. During the Peloponnesian War, the sword was in the possession of the Spartan magistrate Xanthe.
After the misthios Kassandra helped Xanthe by assisting several Spartans around the state, the magistrate gave the sword to Kassandra as a reward.[1]
