Project Siren was a Templar plan to extract more information out of Subject 17, Desmond Miles.

History

As Abstergo planned the acquisition of a new Animus subject after Clay Kaczmarek's death, Warren Vidic formulated a plan to gain more information from them, with the future subject becoming Desmond Miles.

He and his assistant, Lucy Stillman, decided that Desmond would have to leave the Abstergo laboratory in the eventuality that the progress would not be fast enough. From there, Lucy would then contact Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane, two Assassins, and take Desmond to their location.

The two of them hoped that Desmond would feel more at ease amongst Assassins, allowing him to access the crucial memories more easily, memories that Abstergo desired. Afterwards, Lucy was then to contact Vidic when the Assassins had located the Apple of Eden.

Trivia

  • The name, "Project Siren", could have been derived from the nature of the siren, a creature of Greek mythology. Sirens would lure sailors to their death by singing in a seductive manner, leading their boats to crash on the rocks and the entranced sailors to drown amongst the wreckage.
    • With this in mind, the plan emulates this, with Lucy providing Desmond a safe haven amongst the Assassins, only to give away the footage from the Animus and the Apple of Eden to the Templars.
