Port-Menier

Port-Menier is a small fishing town located on the western end of Anticosti Island, Quebec, Canada.

History

During the 18th century, the area was yet untouched by civilization, leaving the local wildlife, such as grey wolves, to thrive. In 1752, Assassins Shay Cormac and Liam O'Brien engaged in a bit of training on Port-Menier, while their compatriot Chevalier de la Vérendrye met with his smuggler allies.[1]

When Shay and Liam heard cannonfire, they decided to check it out and found Chevalier and his men stranded on the island, having been attacked by the British. The pair of Assassins subsequently freed their captured allies and procured a new vessel, the Morrigan, for themselves to leave the island.[1]

Trivia

  • In Assassin's Creed: Rogue, Port-Menier is situated on a small island off the northern coast of Anticosti. In real life, it is located on the western tip of Anticosti Island itself.
