The Palace of Aphareus

The Palace of Aphareus was a palace built on a hill south of Messene in Messenia, Greece.

Belonging to the Aphareus, a mythical king of Messenia, the palace was largely abandoned and in ruin by the Peloponnesian War.

Around 422 BCE, the palace served as the location where the Cult of Kosmos and Dimokrates, the Order of Dominion's representative met to discuss their alliance plans. The proto-Assassin Darius and the misthios Kassandra, having learned of the meeting, hid in the ruins of the palace in hopes of identifying Dimokrates amongst the Order's representatives.[1]

Kassandra eavesdropped on the conversation and identified Dimokrates before assassinating him on the footsteps of the palace.[1]
