Orazio was a condottieri, ally of the Assassin Order and one of Mario Auditore's most loyal men. He personally - alongside Mario - aided in Vieri's ambush, then helped to outfit and train Ezio Auditore when the young assassin first arrived at the city of Monteriggioni.[1] He was also the man that later explained to Ezio (at his asking of) why Mario was very upset when Ezio had presisted in his choice to take his mother and sister to Spain after his combat training was complete.[1][2]
Orazio later fought - although reluctantly - under Ezio when Mario gave him command of a group of Mercenaries that Orazio was in during the battle in San Gimignano that led to the assassination of the Templar Vieri de' Pazzi. Orazio ultimately died in the battle elsewhere in the city just as Ezio managed to strike down Vieri. After showing Vieri's body it's final respects, Mario told Ezio of Orazio's death, to which Ezio reacts with genuine shock and surprise. Mario tells Ezio that Orazio's last words were to mention how brave Ezio had been during all the fighting, and suggested that Ezio should live up to such praise.[1]
Trivia
- In Assassin's Creed II, due to his smaller role, Orazio has a model of one of the common mercenaries, and fights just the same as them.
- In Renaissance it is implied that Ezio and Orazio had formed a kind of friendship over the course of Ezio's training, particularly noted in Orazio's grim amusement of being placed under Ezio's command and Ezio's upset reaction at Mario's mentioning of his death.
