Oliver Augustus was an English counterfeiter who operated during the 17th century.

Biography

During the Great Recoinage of 1696, Oliver worked for William Chaloner, and used a factory in London for his counterfeiting activities. After guards under the Mint Warden Isaac Newton raided the factory, Oliver attempted to escape by hiding near a stable. However, he was caught and tackled by the Assassin Omar Khaled. After revealing his allegiance, an explosion occurred, causing Isaac and Omar to flee the stables with Oliver presumed dead.[1]
