Nyhofn (lit: New port) was an early Norse settlement and port established by the Wolf Clan in Vinland during the late 9th century.
History
Circa 875, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir searched for Gorm Kjotvesson, the Maegester of the Order of the Ancients' Wardens of War sect, who was her blood enemy. Through her voyage, Eivor arrived at the docks of Nyhofn, where she was greeted and inspected by the dockswoman, Hilde. Upon their conversation, Eivor masqueraded as a woman named "Jora of Jorvik" and asked about the settlement. However, Hilde proved uncooperative.
