Myriam was a huntress during the American Revolutionary War. Instead of choosing the traditional alternatives of covenants or brothel for a woman, she chose to live a life in the wild.
The Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton found Myriam and invited her to stay at the Homestead to recuperate, after he had found her injured following an attack by a group of poachers. After the Assassin eliminated all but one from the group who attacked her, and on the medical assistance of Achilles Davenport, Myriam began to sell her surplus kills to the people of the Homestead.
Following a close encounter with the surviving poacher who had returned with murderous intentions, in which a gift from Maurice saved her life, Myriam realized that she was attracted to him, and began a relationship with Maurice which culminated in an eventual marriage to him.
On the day of the wedding, Maurice went to the Davenport manor and told Ratonhnhaké:ton that he could not find Myriam. The assassin went upstairs to the room where Myriam was preparing herself for the wedding, only to find her gone. Finding her wedding bouquet on the floor and a cracked mirror, he saw through his eagle sense that she had suddenly decided to leave. He went to her cabin, where she began to run from him. During a chase through the trees, Myriam revealed that she was afraid marriage would force her to be a housewife the rest of her life, which was opposite to the life of independence and outdoorsmanship she was used to. Ratonhnhaké:ton told her that no one was expecting such a thing of her, and convinced her to stop running. The marriage later proceeded as planned, with Ratonhnhaké:ton giving her away in place of her father, which he was honored to do.
After the wedding, Myriam moved into Maurice's house, but still used her former cabin as a base for her hunting work.
