Muhammad XII (c. 1460 – c. 1533) was the Emir of Granada between 1487 and 1492. Muhammad was an ally of the Assassins and remained in contact with them, despite each having contrasting views.
During the Spanish Inquisition, Muhammad was captured by the Templars and held within the besieged Alhambra palace. In doing this, the Templars prevented the Moors from surrendering to the Spanish, causing the war to drag on.
The Templars planned to keep the war going to prevent Queen Isabella from funding Christoffa Corombo's expedition to the New World. However, the Assassin Ezio Auditore was able to infiltrate the palace and free Muhammad. He also persuaded the Emir to surrender to Spain, effectively ending the war and thwarting the Templars' plans.
