Muhammad XII was the Muslim King of Granada between 1487-1492.[1] Although Muhammad was aware of the existence of the Assassins and had contact with them, he was not an ally of the order.[2]
During the Spanish Inquisition, Muhammad was captured by the Knights Templar and held within the besieged Alhambra palace. This prevented Muhammad from formally surrendering to the Spanish and prolonging the expensive battle between them. Finally the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze was able to rescue Muhammad and proclaim his surrender.[2]
