Miletios, also known as Miletus, was an ancient Greek city-state on the western coast of Anatolia.

Aspasia, the partner of the Athenian statesman Perikles, was born in the city in 470 BCE. [citation needed] Other Milesians of note include the philosophers Thales, Anaximandros, and Anaximenes.[1]
