Menon was the son of Lelex the Ionian.

During the 428 BCE Olympic Games Menon planned with his beloved Laneira, the daughter of Makar, to steal the wealth of their families held at the treasuries within Sanctuary of Olympia. They waited until the guard had fallen asleep and then snuck in, took what they could and made their way to the ruins within the Valley of Olympia.[1]

Soon after the Spartan misthios Kassandra was tasked with finding the thieves of the fortunes. She figured out the thieves' hiding place and confronted them. However, Lelex and Menon came there as well, demanding that Kassandra slay the thieves, despite the fact that they were the men's own children.[1]

Trivia

  • Though either the children or the fathers will die over the course of the quest, the canonicity of the fates is unknown.
