The Ancient Battle Sword was a type of sword used in Greece. Despite still seeing use by the 5th century BCE, it was considered a relic from an earlier era.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra commonly found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Ancient Battle Sword, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of other similar weapons in the same game, for example Artemis' Bane. In addition, the Rusted Battle Sword also shares the model, but bears a different finish as well as icon. These are all the recycled model of Conductor of Souls/Sunslayer/Sword of the Duat, weapons in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
