Marco Barbarigo (1413-1485) was cousin of Silvio Barbarigo and a Templar. He belongs to a rich and powerful family. A tyrant since a young age Marco was used to getting whatever he wanted.
Marco's wife, Carlotta, was previously married to his personal bodyguard and close friend Dante Moro. Marco orchestrated an attempt on Dante's life, which failed to kill him, but leads to brain damage. Now with the mind of a child Marco had Dante annul the marriage and is kept as Marco's personal slave.
Marco and Dante are first seen at a meeting in Venice with Silvio and Carlo Grimaldi. Here they plot to kill the current Doge and it is decided Marco will take his place. He is next seen attending the Carnival in Venice on a barge. It is here that Ezio shoots him with the hidden gun amid the noise of the fireworks.
He is related to Emilio Barbarigo.
Final Words
Marco: No, it's too soon. I'm not ready.
Ezio: We rarely are. Che la morte non sis crudele. Requiescat in pace. (Death be not unkind. Rest in peace.)
