Le Chasseur (French: The Hunter; unknown – 1756) was a spy operating in New York, North Atlantic and River Valley during the Seven Years War between Britain and France. Le Chasseur would often gather vital information for the Assassins, such as the location of the box and manuscript sought after by Shay Cormac.
In 1754, Le Chasseur acquired blueprints from a Royal Navy Ship of the Line detailing instructions on how to build a puckle gun. The Navy Ship was also transporting the manuscript the Assassins had been hunting, but neither Le Chasseur nor his comrades understood its writing. After revealing the blueprints to Shay, Le Chasseur then located an engineer to build the Puckle Gun for the Morrigan.
Le Chasseur eventually died in 1756, killed by Shay Cormac after the latter turned Templar.
