Kanki Castle

Kanki Castle was a castle of the Bessho clan situated in the western Kanki Burned Fields in Harima, Japan.

History

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke infiltrated the castle after learning from the rōnin Koshiro, who broke ranks from Bessho Harumasa, about his friend Seiji being left behind. Breaking into the castle, they eavesdropped on the guards who spoke about how Seiji held Koshiro at the nearby temple. They later found a letter sent to Seiji to deal with his old friend permanently. With these clues, they headed towards Jorakuji Temple to find Koshiro and Seiji.[1]

At some point, Naoe and Yasuke returned back to the castle, killed its two samurai daisho, and recovered the Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend from the fort's treasure chest.[2]
