Juhani Otso Berg

Juhani Otso Berg (born 17 June 1985) was a former member of the Finnish Special Forces, and by 2012, an agent of the Operations Division of Abstergo Industries. Accompanying this, Berg had a three-year old daughter.

Biography

Early life

Before joining to the Templars, Berg was on Utti Jaeger Regiment, Finland's special forces. After that, he become a mercenary.

Rising the Templar ranks

In an agent evaluation report conducted on 8 November 2012, Ctibor Hašek identified Berg as a potential candidate for the Inner Sanctum, noting him as an obedient, loyal agent who was dedicated to the Templar cause. However, Hašek was concerned that Berg's daughter could be a weakness.

On 16 November, Berg was sent to Manhattan, New York by Laetitia England to investigate a possible break-in at the Abstergo office in the city. There, he discovered Daniel Cross, who had escaped the Philadelphia facility the previous day, and who had been injured during a confrontation with the Assassin Desmond Miles. In this instance, Daniel had been suffering from the Bleeding Effect and attacked Berg, though he neutralized Cross and returned him to Abstergo.

Nine days later, in Helsinki, Finland, Berg was seen spending time with his three-year old daughter.

Raid in Florence

On 28 November, Berg followed an Assassin on the regional road SR2 in Italy, following an Assassin attack on an Abstergo facility that killed four Abstergo hackers. Berg called his superiors and informed them of the situation, convincing them to allow him to follow the Assassin back to his base instead of killing him.

Berg successfully tracked them to a secret Assassin base in Florence run by Adriano Maestranzi and Harlan T. Cunningham, and he called for backup to launch a raid.

Berg was then given command of Sigma Team and began the attack on 30 November at 6:27am, killing three Assassins during the assault. However, Adriano detonated a bomb, which destroyed the hideout and the Assassins' files, allowed Harlan to escape, and killed all of Sigma Team except for Berg, who suffered burns that left facial scarring. Despite the outcome, Berg's superiors were pleased with his performance and he was not blamed for the loss of Sigma Team.
