"Ah, Venezia! What other place is as beautiful, as stable, as perfect!"
―Alvise, during Ezio and Leonardo's tour of Venice.[src]
Alvise greeting Leonardo da Vinci

Alvise da Vilandino (1441 - 1500) was a baggage handler who resided in Venice.

Having been born in Venice in 1441, Alvise later welcomed the polymath Leonardo da Vinci and his close friend, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, to the city in 1481. Following this, he gave the pair a short tour of the San Polo District and introduced Leonardo to his new workshop in Venice, before being rudely left without a tip for his service.

Trivia

  • In Assassin's Creed: Renaissance, Alvise was referred to as "Nero".
    • Nero was described as obese, pale man with large eyes, in the service of Conte da Pexaro.
