I think nickname is better. He's officially titled the Jockey of Artemision, also says so above his lines during conversation. We just don't know his name, only his title.

The Jockey of Artemision was a small boy working for Persephone at the Shrine of Stallions within the simulation of Elysium.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was given the chance to deliver Orphnaeus, a horse of Hades, to the jockey as part of a request by Persephone herself.[1]
