Jesus of Nazareth

Jesus (c. 4 BCE – c. 30 CE), also known as Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ, was a first century Jewish Rabbi and Carpenter who became one of the central figures of Christianity. His believers, called Christians, view him as the Christ and the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament, believing him to be the Son of God who sacrificed himself to cleanse the sins of all humanity, before being resurrected from the dead and ascending to Heaven.

Early Christians wrote down his life and teachings as the New Testament. His miracle were discovered to be due to possessing a Shroud of Eden.

History

Birth and Settling in Nazareth

Jesus Christ was born, during the reign of Heron the Great, in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary and carpenter Joseph. Upon hearing of his miraculous conception, Heron the Great, feeling threatened, ordered all newborn boys in his kingdom to be executed. Joseph tok Jesus and fled to Egypt. Upon Heron's death, Joseph and Jesus came back and settled down in Nazareth.

After being baptized, years later, Jesus became a Rabbi and Carpenter in Roman Judea, and began preaching spiritual values of compassion, wisdom, faith, humility and love as well as the Kingdom of God. The Pharisees upon hearing of his preachings, challenged him and called his abilities demonic. Jesus, however, questioned the logic and thus proved them wrong, which only hardened their resolve against him.

Performing Miracles and Crucifixion

At one point in his life, Jesus Christ come in to contact with a Piece of Eden called the Should of Eden and began performing many miracles by harnessing its restorative powers, such as healing the sick and wounded and at one point even resurrecting the recently deceased Lazarus.

However, ancient Templars took notice of his many followers and investigated these groups as well as these miracles being performed by Jesus. After being betrayed to the ancient Templars by Judas Iscariot, The Templars had the Romans arrest, tortrue and then crucify Jesus, while they took the Shroud for themselves. However, Jesus' disciples were able to recover the Shroud and briefly resurrect him.

• The actor Pietro Rossi played the role of Jesus at the Colosseum Passion Play.
• Throughout Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag a number of individuals use the period-specific "Jaysus" as a mild profanity; Jaysus was a popular spelling of the name "Jesus" during the 17th and 18th centuries.
