Jerusalem is a location in Assassin's Creed, known as the Holy City to Christians, Muslims, and Jews. The largest of all in the Kingdom, it houses exquisite towers, cathedrals, and other buildings.
The city is (at the time of Altaïr) governed by Saracens (Muslims). Crusaders are battling to capture it for Christianity.

History
Jerusalem has been a holy site all through religious history. Even to this day, it is the capital city of the country of Israel. During the Crusades, it was one of the most fought over places in all the Holy Land.
