Jacob Frye

Jacob Frye (1847 – unknown), born to Ethan and Cecily Frye, was a Master Assassin of the British Brotherhood of Assassins active in London during the Victorian era, and the younger twin brother of Evie Frye.

Born in Crawley, where they were raised as Assassins from birth, Jacob and his sister moved to London after their father died of natural causes. There, they sought to overthrow the oppressive Templar-led establishment and help the poverty-stricken masses.

Alongside Evie, Jacob led the Rooks, a criminal syndicate opposing the Templars. At some point in their life, the twins came into contact with the novelist Charles Dickens, and the biologist Charles Darwin.

Personality and characteristics

Unlike his level-headed and stealthy elder sister, Jacob was a reckless and rebellious individual. While he was brought up as an Assassin, he did not appear to be a fervent believer in the Creed's tenets like his sister, preferring action over philosophical thoughts and a good fight over discretion.

Equipment and skills

Having been trained by the Brotherhood from birth, Jacob was a Master Assassin adept in stealth, combat, swordsmanship and observation despite his preference to the latter. He proved to be a skilled Freerunner able to scale the buildings of Victorian London with relative ease.

An experienced brawler, Jacob was proficient in hand-to-hand combat and could engage multiple opponents at once with minimal effort where he could also utilise his brass knuckles to employ viscous and brutal take-downs.

In terms of equipment due to the era's restriction of open weaponry Jacob utilised an arsenal of hidden tools, he wielded two Hidden Blades including the 'Gauntlet Blade' a versatile weapon equipped with a rope launcher which could allow him to access and scale areas almost instantly as well as to create zip lines to travel across distanced buildings; additionally the blade contained hallucinogenic darts, allowing him to eliminate groups of enemies at a distance upon the dart's contact with an open flame.

He also wielded a cane-sword, an effective weapon with a blade concealed inside which could be employed in open combat for both lethal and non-lethal take-downs, accompanying this Jacob also wielded a kukri blade, a six-shot revolver as well as throwing knives.

Additionally Jacob possessed the rare ability of Eagle Vision.

• Jacob's name is of Biblical origin, with the meaning being either he who grasps the heel or supplanter. Frye is a derivative of the English word free.
• Jacob keeps a shilling around his neck as a memento.
• He possesses a scar on his right eyebrow, as well as one on the left side of his beard.
