Isabetta Auditore [1] (died 25 September 1321)[2] was the wife of the Assassin Domenico Auditore, and mother of Renato Auditore.[3]
Biography
Sometime after 1296, Isabetta met Domenico and the two fell in love. Domenico left soon after for the sea, but soon returned and the two were wed. Shortly afterwards their son Renato was born.[3]
In September 1321, after Domenico's mentor Dante Alighieri was killed by Templars, he took Isabetta and Renato with him to journey to Spain in order to keep the codex of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad from the Templars. However, after docking in the Otranto harbor, their trading vessel was attacked by pirates hired by the Templars, who raped and killed Isabetta. Her body later washed up on shore, where it was discovered by her husband and son.[3]
