Herit was a villager living in Siwa, Egypt during the 1st century BCE. The aunt of Aya, she welcomed her niece when she moved to Siwa from Alexandria to live with her, while Aya's scholar parents remained in the Egyptian capital.
Around 56 BCE, Herit fell ill, prompting Aya, who had left Siwa to help Bayek search for his father Sabu, to return to the village in order to tend to her aunt. This inadvertently allowed Bion, a mercenary hunting Sabu, to find his and Bayek's hideout, as Aya ran into him on her way to Siwa.
