George Washington (1732 – 1799) was the commander of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783, and served as the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797. As stated in a hidden message from one of Subject 16's cluster puzzles, George Washington was a Freemason along with many of America's founding fathers. It is unclear what relationship the Freemasons had with either the Assassins or Templars, however he seems to be allied with Assassins in the upcoming game Assassin's Creed III, and the Assassin symbol does bear a strong resemblance to the Freemason compass
