The Alamanni were an alliance of Germanic tribes around the upper Rhine during the Roman era.

In 259, the Assassin Accipiter was also an Alaman, and fought in a battle with an army of Romans under the command of the general Gracchus.[1] Later, he led the Alamanni in attack of Lugdunum and Italy.[2]
