Esiocles

Esiocles, also known as Esio, was a Kyrenaikan-born citizen of the Roman Republic, who lived in Cyrene, during the reign of Julius Caesar.

Biography

Around 49 BCE, whilst playing outside of the Cyrene's Temple of Zeus, Esio witnessed the Medjay Bayek of Siwa perform a Leap of Faith off of the temple's rooftop.

Capturing Bayek's attention, Esio convinced the Medjay to entertain the city's children by leaping off of various city landmarks' rooftops - including the city baths, the Temple of Apollo, and the Akropolis. Upon completing the final jump, Esio bestowed upon Bayek the title of the "Flea of Cyrene".
