Erebus is the personification and primordial god of darkness in Greek mythology. He is regarded as the brother and consort of Nyx, with whom he fathered Thanatos, the personification of death; Hypnos, the personification of sleep; Nemesis, the goddess of retribution; Eris, the goddess of strife; Oizys, goddess of misery and depression; Charon, the ferryman of Hades; as well as the Fates and Keres.[1]
