The house of the writer Al-Jahiz was located in the Round City of Baghdad, outside the southwestern wall surrounding the Caliphal Palace.

He managed to locate an explosive jar and destroyed the roof, gaining access into the residence. Within the house, he recovered an outfit from a large chest.[1]
