Akechi Mitsuhide (10 March 1528 – 17 July 1582) was a general under the daimyo Oda Nobunaga during the Sengoku period of Japan.
In June 1582, Mitsuhide rebelled against his master and attacked him at Honnō-ji temple. During the rebellion, Nobunaga was killed by the Assassin Yamauchi Taka, who then retrieved Nobunaga's Sword of Eden.
