The Dniester

The Dniester is a river in Eastern Europe.

History

In 870, during his travels east, the Viking Sigurd Styrbjornsson of the Raven Clan and his cousin Knud sailed to Bulgar along the Dniester. There, they dealt with an attempted ambush at a swordsmith's shop and learned about the location of a wealthy merchant's castle[1] on the so-called "Dniester Trail".[2]
