Dekanawida was a series of hills and caves situated in the center of the River Valley in New York.
Due to the Iroquois people's presence, Dekanawida's cave walls were illustrated with their legends of the Sky Woman; a native totem had also erected at the edge of a hilltop. In the 18th century, the French started to build small encampments to hunt the region's wildlife. The Templar Shay Cormac also visited Dekanawida to retrieve a native relic beneath the totem pillar.
Trivia
- Dekanawida is a name of Iroquois origin meaning "two rivers running". The original founder of the Iroquois Confederacy was named Dekanawida, though he is more frequently referred to as the Great Peacemaker out of respect.
