Born in Portugal then abandoned on the streets of Hakata as a child, Rufino has long walked the path of an outsider. Years ago, he witnessed a horrific battle on Tomiko's family farmstead, leaving her family and his friends dead. The brutality of that night shook him to his core, driving him towards a mission of ending war, for good.

Despite the darkness of his past, Rufino's friendly demeanor and natural charm helps him to forge connections wherever he goes.
