The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of the Amenhotep III, a pharaoh who reigned Egypt during the Eighteenth Dynasty, located west of the Nile river in the Theban Necropolis.
In 38 BCE, the priest, Sab, was forced to climb up one of the statues due to the nearby pack of crocodiles that had set their lair at the Colossi's feet. Sab was later rescued by the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa, who eliminated the crocodiles.[1]
On one of the statues, a note was left:
"At dawn listen, listen on the wind for the whispers of the Colossi, for they bring all who hear them good fortune." [2]
