The Canterbury Cathedral is a cathedral in Canterbury, Kent, being one of the oldest and most famous Chrisitian structures in England.[1]

History

Plantagenet period

During the 14th century, many Christian pilgrims made their way to the cathedral to visit the shrine of Thomas Becket the venerated archbishop. The pilgrimages were recorded by the poet Geoffrey Chaucer in his collection of stories titled The Canterbury Tales.[2]
