A view of Boura

Boura was a small village located within the Erymanthos Peaks in Achaia, Greece. It was said to be named either after Bura or the centaur Dexamenos, both figures in Greek mythology.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the village was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]

Trivia

  • Historically, Boura was an ancient polis and was one of the 12 cities of the Achaean League. The city was swallowed by an earthquake that destroyed the nearby city of Ruins of Helike.
