The Tail of the Beast was a kanabō that Yasuke obtained in 1582. That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe were tasked by Mamushi with examining the rumors of yōkai throughout Japan. During their investigation in Tamba, they arrived at Kabasaka Village, where they discovered a Taka Nyudo holding a few villagers hostage, among them a woman named Chitose, whom he blamed for his recent losses. They confronted the man, killed him, and retrieved the heavy weapon from his personal effects.[1]
