The Silver Ace was a katana that Fujibayashi Naoe obtained in 1582. That year, Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke met with Hosokawa Fujitaka in order to prevent a possible alliance between him and Akechi Mitsuhide, in turn being tasked with investigating a silver-smuggling ring affecting him.[1] The pair followed a lead into one of the smugglers, Shinji, locating him interrogating a captured rōnin within a cave near Onitake Shrine. They then assassinated the smuggler, recovering the sword from his personal effects.[2]
