Bella's father (died 1796 or 1797) was a French man who lived with his daughter Bella and his mother in southern Ventre de Paris.
Biography
Bella's father looked out for Bella's best interests and ran errands for his fragile mother. Hoping to ensure his daughter was married off well, he learned to his misfortune of her relationship with the Scottish tradesman Jamie MacArthur. Forbidding his daughter to see him, he wrote a letter to Jamie stating the pair would never marry and how he believed his daughter deserved better.[1]
Death
While on one of his errands, he walked to a local butcher shop after getting directions from another shopkeeper. However, the moment he arrived, Jamie attacked and killed him, then cut the body into pieces. Jamie attempted to disguise the innards as haggis and stored the bones in a bag which he disposed of at the district's shores of the Seine. Days later, the French Assassin Arno Dorian came to Bella's house after finding the bag of her father's remains. After Arno completed his investigation, he justly accused Jamie of murder. After Jamie confessed, Arno brought him to jail.[1]
