All that's left in the present day as a goal is to stop Juno from doing whatever she will do. During the first 5 games it was to stop the end of the world and we were playing as Desmond. We had a purpose and we were left with cliffhangers at the end of each game wondering what was going to happen next (I felt like that at least) but now Desmond is dead and we just don't know where the story is going the templars have a huge advantage over the assassins and they're just pointlessly fighting eachother since the end of the world is saved so there isn't really something left to do they're just fighting each other, until Juno comes in. If she takes over the world etc then we could be intrigued by what can happen (But IMO Juno taking over the world isn't really interesting either). I just don't see any point of the present day for now.
