:"Isu host" makes it sound like the Isu are parasites (they might be idk). So I'm not too sure on this wording. [[User:VilkaIsBack|VilkaIsBack]] ([[User talk:VilkaIsBack|talk]]) 10:05, 27 July 2022 (UTC) | |||
::I've been meaning to formally propose this for a while now, but I now believe "Isu incarnation" is the best term when referring to the human counterpart and "incarnated Isu" for the Isu counterpart. I was late to ''Valhalla'' lore, so I didn't realize before that this is a process that only occurs once, unlike Sages. Since it only occurs once, it moots the debate over the term ''reincarnation'' requiring a soul because it's not even reincarnation if it only happens once. This phenomenon is instead more analogous to ''incarnations'', as the term is used across different religions, including Christianity and Hinduism to describe a deity manifesting in human form. To be honest, I'm even embarrassed now that this page has been at "Reborn Isu" for so long, notwithstanding that the article is apparently about the human in the equation not the Isu. I would like to move it as soon as possible if everyone is on board. Article name[edit source]
Since this doesn’t have a canon name I think it would be good to have this section here in case anyone thinks of other possibly better terminology. We might also want to copy over some of the discussion from the Sage talkpage. I do want to float out using the word “host” instead of reincarnation and reborn as possibly less mystical sounding? - I've been meaning to formally propose this for a while now, but I now believe "Isu incarnation" is the best term when referring to the human counterpart and "incarnated Isu" for the Isu counterpart. I was late to Valhalla lore, so I didn't realize before that this is a process that only occurs once, unlike Sages. Since it only occurs once, it moots the debate over the term reincarnation requiring a soul because it's not even reincarnation if it only happens once. This phenomenon is instead more analogous to incarnations, as the term is used across different religions, including Christianity and Hinduism to describe a deity manifesting in human form. To be honest, I'm even embarrassed now that this page has been at "Reborn Isu" for so long, notwithstanding that the article is apparently about the human in the equation not the Isu. I would like to move it as soon as possible if everyone is on board. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 09:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
