Yebu, now known as Elephantine, is an island on the Nile, forming part of the city of Swenett in Upper Egypt.
History[edit | edit source]
Around 70 BCE, Bayek was notified that his missing father, the Medjay of Siwa, Sabu, was being held prisoner on the island. Together with Aya and Kensa, he went to investigate. Upon reaching the island, they discovered it was a trap set by the local militia, but they managed to escape whereupon they were met by Sabu. Erstwhile, Bion, the man hunting the Medjay to extinction, had arrived to the same trap, escaping with some injuries.[1]
In 38 BCE, Yebu served as the seat of the strategos Athames. That year, after learning of Athames' acts of desecration, Bayek, now the Mentor of the Hidden Ones, travelled to the island and assassinated the strategos.[2]
