The Tumulus of Plataia is a burial mound erected east of the Fort of Plataia within Ruins of Plataia in Boeotia, Greece.
Raised to honor the Plataians slain during the Battle of Marathon in 490 BCE, the tumulus was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1] The corresponding tumulus for the 192 Athenians who perished in the conflict was located in the heart of the Marathon Beach in Attika.[2]
