Treo Tea was an American company which specialized in desserts and tea. Their head office was located in San Diego, California, and served as a front for the Templar Order, who maintained various rooms and facilities within the building.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In 2015, the company's San Diego office served as the base of operations for Didier Hawking, a high-ranking Templar. Collaborating with the ex-Assassin Joseph Laurier in exchange for the location of a Piece of Eden supposedly present during the Salem witch trials, they devised a plan to lure and trap the Assassins Galina Voronina, Xavier Chen, and Charlotte de la Cruz, who believed Joseph had been captured and needed rescuing.[2]
As Galina and Xavier found and "freed" Joseph, he attacked them, ultimately killing Xavier by drowning him in a nearby pool. He also broke Galina's leg, but before he could finish her off, Charlotte arrived and confronted the rogue Assassin. In an attempt to convince Charlotte to abandon the Assassins, who he believed had used both of them, Joseph detonated a hidden explosive that killed Hawking and other high-ranking Templars. He then explained that he had only used the Templars to achieve revenge on Xavier, who was responsible for the death of his lover Christian, and invited Charlotte to join him.[2]
Charlotte refused and attacked Joseph with a knife, just as Templar agents arrived on the scene. While Joseph escaped, Charlotte grabbed the injured Galina and carried her to safety. The two women were ultimately able to flee the Treo Tea office and lose their Templar assailants, though in the process Charlotte discovered that Brad, an employee she had tied up during her infiltration, died from asthma. This incident would prove to be deeply traumatizing for the young Assassin.[2]
