Thomas Cubitt (1788 – 1855), was a British master builder.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1864, the British government tore down Blackfriars Bridge, determining it would be more cost-effective to simply replace the bridge rather than to keep repairing it as they had done for almost a century. Cubitt designed the new bridge, which was completed in 1869 and is still standing.[1]
