Not quite Norse myth, I don't think, because it's not an IRL source, though it does recount the tales

The Forgotten Saga was a prose story written by the Norse artisan Everold as he transcribed events recounted by the Raven Clan's jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir in her fugue state induced by one of Valka's brewed herbal concoctions. Its verses told the story of Odin's journey through Niflheim as he tried to free Baldr from the clutches of Hel. Everold used it as inspiration for his crafting, designing armor, weapons, decorations, and tattoos derived from what he heard.[1]

A Manifold Path

Odin's second son is Baldr who is so loved and so good in all things that he shines with a light of his own.

After Baldr died by Surtr's hand, many thought the High One's will was broken.

But this was not the beginning of his end, foretold by the dead witch. The Shaper of Worlds had simply set his sight on yet another impossible task.

Descent into Kaldstad
Doomed to Niflheim by Loki's treachery, Baldr was hidden away in Hel's Castle, where only Odin would dare a rescue.

The High One crossed the Warding Wall into Kaldstad, finding that heat-starved wasteland as stark and brutal as ever.

Now, however, Niflheim's first realm was filled with Jotun and a cold purpose of Hel's making that hinted at some dark design...

Crossing Døkkerland
Odin's anger carried him to unforgiving Døkkerland, where the strong build new lives on the backs of the weak.

In this burning land of smoke and shadow, Loki's daughter would test his resolve to free his Hel-bound son.

Hatred and vengeance burn bright in the dark realm, pushing some to greater heights, as the High One was destined to discover...

In the Bowels of Nidheim
After many Helish trials, Odin entered foul Nidheim, home to the most loathsome of dragons.

Though older than the All-Father himself and formidable for his age, Nidhogg was not immune to his own corruption.

And even without his urgent quest, the High One's horror and disgust would have driven him to strike at Nidhogg's heart...

Returning to the Roots
As Baldr's final words faded from his memory, Odin returned to where it all started, that place of countless beginnings.

Though bereft of past and purpose, no power in the Nine Worlds could prove a match for the will of the Wanderer, the High One, the Warrior with a Hundred Names.

It was as a smoldering ember, needing naught but the lightest breath to turn it into a roaring flame.
