Sogdia actually comes up quite a lot in Dynasty. Apart from An Lushan's dance, there has been at least one Sogdian Hidden One, and Sogdians are mentioned among the Tang's population. I will expand on this article as soon as I can.

Sogdia (粟特) was an Iranic civilization in Central Asia. Samarkand was one of its major cities.[1][2] It had a central role in connecting Middle East and China through the Silk Road, many Sogdians becoming merchants and their language being established as a lingua franca.[3]
