The Sharqiyah Gate was one of the Gates of Baghdad, located in and named after the sub-district of Sharqiyah in Karkh, Baghdad.
In the 860s, the Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq met the Zanj rebel leader Ali ibn Muhammad at the gate before heading to the town of Jarjaraya further southeast.[1]
