Roscoe (died 870) was a Viking warrior from the Wolf Clan.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 870, Roscoe was part of a band of Wolf Clan warriors raiding and pillaging a village on the border of Rygjafylke. The raid was interrupted by the Raven Clan members Dag Nithisson, Tora Auzoux, and Eivor Varinsdottir, who began defending the village. Roscoe fought Eivor and taunted her with the manner of her father's death.[1]

Knowing the taunts were lies, as Eivor had been present the night of Varin's death,[2] she took advantage of Roscoe's distracted boasting to grab a sword and sever his legs.[1] His fellow raider Taras rescued him and took him to Kjotve the Cruel's longhouse at Agder. After they informed Kjotve of the death of the rest of the band and the kidnapping of Gull, Kjotve cut off Roscoe's head.[3]
